Antoski’s So Cal Artshow Debut

by Chris Wellhausen | Aug 12, 2008 |

I know we have a very talented Art Department here at TWS, but I am extra proud to share with you an inspirational piece of art that our Associate Art Director, John Antoski, presented Friday night at San Diego downtown gallery named “Subtext.”

It was cool evening to venture to San Diego’s Little Italy…this area of SD hosts many art events throughout the year.

Once Ben, J2, & I arrived we cruised the area for a little bite to eat. We ran into Koop (TW Snow Art Director) and he was showed us his busted up Pentax point & shoot…time for another party camera kid.

After arriving at the Subtext gallery, we gathered around Antoski to hear about his creation.

Antoski calls this “Living Not Breathing.” I noticed several visual references to his surroundings…both from his native homeland of Canada & to his new environment of the beach scene. Wild for sure! Antoski Dali!

In addition to the pen & ink designs, these “munnies” we in abundance…trippy lil’ toy art figures

This one reminded me of Halloween costume.

This maybe one of the most successful “munnies.” As it is produced for the consumer with a speaker that allows I-pod plug ins. I was down for one…but a little large for my office desk.
